Rules and Conditions of Entry

  1. Entry is open to all photographers worldwide, amateur and professional.
  2. Entries will be judged in four classes:-
    A – Open. This covers all subjects and includes creative & monochrome. All images entered in the Open section will be judged together.
    B – Photo Travel.
    C – Nature.
    D – People.
    This covers all people, from children to adults as individuals or in groups, at work, rest or play.
  3. All acceptances count towards FIAP and PSA awards.
  4. Entries must be digital only and may be submitted via the internet. Entries submitted via the internet (preferred method) should be made via the Swansea Camera Club web page. (www.swanseacameraclub.co.uk/international/sccinternational.html).
  5. CD ROM entries should use the attached PDF paper entry form. The payment and postage details are included on the form, which when completed should be posted with the CD.
  6. CD ROMS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
  7. The image must be a maximum of 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels high (including any borders) at 72ppi or higher, saved as a  JPG with a maximum size of not more than 1 MB per image. Colour source sRGB or Adobe RGB (1998). Entries not meeting the specifications may not be displayed correctly. If a CD entry, please print entrant name on CD & CD sleeve. The image name and title should be no greater than 35 characters long.
  8. ENTRY FORM. - Instructions
  9. Use the following Format for your Image Filename:
    surname-x-####-yz.jpg
    Where x is the first character of your given name.
    #### is the last four digits of you phone number.
    Where y is the Section Letter (A, B, C, D)
    Where z is the image number (1, 2, 3, 4)

    Example: smith -j- 1234-A1.jpg (This is image number 1 entered in Section A, by John Smith, phone no. 727-784-1234


    1:- Click on a browse button in the section you are entering to find the image you wish to enter from your computer, and then click open.
    2:- Go to the Title field next to the Browse button and fill in the image title.
    3:- Repeat 1 and 2 for each image you are sending.
    4:- When you have completed your entry, click on the Submit button and under this button you will see your images being uploaded.
    5:- After uploading has completed you will be taken to the PayPal page for payment.
    6:- Click on the number of sections you have entered, PayPal will confirm the price in Pounds (£) but if you pay in any other currency this will be automatically coverted by PayPal.
    7:- You will receive a confirmation email from "The Swansea Camera Club International Salon" with full details of your entry.
    If you do not receive this email please check your spam folder before advising us of non-receipt.

  10. CD entries should follow the same file reference system as above and they will not be returned.
  11. Each entrant is limited to 4 images per Section. THE SAME IMAGE MUST NOT BE SUBMITTED IN MORE THAN ONE SECTION.
  12. An entrant’s multiple images in each Section will be judged at random.
  13. Images will be judged using a digital projector of 1024 by 768 native projection. No information about the entrant or country will be given to the selectors.
  14. Images  accepted in a previous Swansea Exhibitions, or which, in the opinion of the organisers, are too similar to those accepted in a previous Swansea Salons are not eligible.
  15. Permission to reproduce any image (at low resolution) in an internet exhibition and on our CD catalogue of the Salon is assumed.
  16. The organisers may refuse to accept an entry/image at their discretion.
  17. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright. Copyright of the images accepted for catalogue and support of our Salon retained by the author.
  18. PayPal is our preferred payment method, as an alternative ONLY STERLING CHEQUES DRAWN ON UK BANKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  19. Confirmation of your entry will be emailed automatically after submission and also be available on our internet page. "Status Page".
    Please allow a few days after you have sent your entries, as the Status Page is not an Automatic system.

  20. This competition is run under FIAP and PSA rules.
  21. All entrants will be sent a results CD of the Salon.
  22. The organisers regret that entries for which no fee, incorrect fee or where the entry fee is paid with a foreign cheque or Money Order, will not be judged or returned.
  23. Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright. For digital imaging section(s) images may be acquired digitally, or scanned from traditional film to create a digital file.
  24. SUBMISSION of an entry signifies acceptance of our conditions.
  25. AWARDS:- In recognition of the efficient management of the 2008 Swansea International, FIAP and PSA permit Swansea International to award a number of FIAP & PSA medals and other awards in each class. Accepted entries will be eligible for FIAP awards and the PSA's "Who's Who" and Star Rating (CPID, Travel and Nature).
